Welcome to Thunderpawz Agility

At Thunderpawz Agility, we make every effort to create a productive and enjoyable dog training experience for both humans and canines using positive and motivational training methods. Realizing that not all agility teams are the same, we strive to help handlers create a training program that is custom-tailored to the needs of the team. Our broad range of experience allows us to facilitate handlers of all levels of competition by setting attainable and manageable goals. All lessons are conducted at our home-based training field. We generally plan for a lesson with one dog to be an hour long. Your dog typically will not be working the entire time, but you and your dog will come away from our lessons with a sense of accomplishment and that you learned something useful.Every agility team is unique. Because of this, we offer concept-based training. We might use the latest copy of Clean Run or a textbook to set some plans or ideas, but your training will be personalized. Our broad range of experience allows us to facilitate handlers of all levels of competition by setting attainable and manageable goals.

You have your own agility or dog training goals, and we will help you meet them, on your terms. We believe in the value of private instruction. Group classes are a great social experience, but why pay for an hour of instruction when you spend half your time waiting for someone else to complete a sequence? Why deal with the disturbances of tardy students and unruly dogs?

Private Agility Instruction

We know that your time and money are of great value to you, and we respect that. Private instruction helps not only build the bond between handler and dog, but also handler and instructor.

You can use private lessons for troubleshooting. Having issues with snooker? Is it time for a distance handling refresher to pick up that pesky last gamblers leg? We can help. We’ve been there.

And we’ll keep up with you, even after your lessons are done. We believe in following up with all our students to help maintain the level of performance you want. Train with us, and chances are that we’ll spend some quality time together at a trial next weekend!

Agility Handling Service

Alison has a natural touch with dogs and is able to create a competitive bond with other dogs very quickly. We offer a wide range of handling services, ranging from a week of boarding and training before an event, or simply day of the event handling, or any sort of combination.

We can’t guarantee results, but we will promise to treat your dog as if it were one of our own. Also, unlike other local businesses offering inboard training, we keep a strict limit of no more than two guest dogs at any time, and Alison and Mike are the sole caretakers of the dogs.

Event Coaching Service

Need some advice on the day of a trial? Maybe you just need a little encouragement during your day of competition. You can count on Coach Alison to help you come up with the best handling plan for you and your dog. Alison’s vast experience in all classes allows her to take a creative, aggressive or simply fun approach to your run.
